Foreign medical graduates interns training, outreach, research activities 2022- 2023

COMMUNITY MEDICINE DEPARTMENT

The FMGs were posted in Community Medicine Department for a period of two months for CRMI. During their posting they were trained as per the TN MGR university recommended modules which are as follows:

  • Family Adoption Programme (FAP ) field visit
  • Family Folder Survey ( FFS )visit at the rural villages
  • Health awareness programme on breast cancer and cervical cancer delivered to the rural community.
  • The interns were divided into two groups and they have done two research topics in qualitative and quantitative aspects.
  • The research topics were

  • Risk factors for Diabetes and Hypertension – A cross sectional study
  • Impact of communication skills role play – A qualitative study
  • Communication skills – role play session on doctor – patient communication demonstrated to the first year MBBS students
  • Medical Ethics and Legal Issues – case discussion as per AETCOM module

  • FAP and FFS by the FMGE CRMIs


    Data collection on the research project by the FMGE CRMI


    Health awareness programme at Sithamoor village by the FMGE CRMI


    Communication skills – role play followed by discussion (FMGE CRMI)


    Case scenario discussion on AETCOM module (Medical Ethics and legal issues)
