Medical Education Unit

MEU is being established as per the norms of NMC. Presently it is headed by Dr. G.Shrikanthan, Professor & Head, Dept. of Forensic Medicine.

He has completed the following Medical Education Technology Courses conducted by MCI/NMC.

  • Basic course workshop - 12th to 14th Oct 2011 (Nodal Centre - SRMC)
    Program for co-ordinator in MET - 18th Jan 2011-2012 (Nodal Centre - SRMC)
    Revised basic course workshop - 14th to 16th Oct 2015 (Nodal Centre - JIPMER)
    ATCOM - Module - 13th Oct 2015 (Nodal Centre - JIPMER)
    Advance course in Medical Education (1 year course) – Completed on 19th Aug 2017

Infrastructure of MEU:

  • Area - 1125 Sq.m – (Fully Air-conditioned)
  • Av Aids – Smart Board, LCD Projector, Marker Board
  • Capacity – 30 to 50 Persons accommodation / Session, with facilities for group discussions

Meeting of the Medical Education Unit Committee was held on 14.7.2021 at MEU Hall, between 10.00 am and 11.30 am.

The objectives of the Medical Education Unit as agreed upon by all the members are as follows:

  • To providing and ensure Medical Education to the Under Graduate Medical Students with the goal of implementing the competency-based curriculum, as per NMC
  • To ensure curriculum development through the curriculum committee
  • To ensure Facility development in Medical Education technologies by conducting facility development programs and workshop

The following are the activities to be followed:

  • Faculties need to be trained in Revised Basic Course Workshop
