Report on the first session of “FAMILY ADOPTION PROGRAMME”(PHASE I MBBS 2022–2023 batch)
The first session of Family Adoption Programme on 07th January, 2023 was conducted by the Department of Community Medicine, Arunai Medical College and Hospital under the guidance of Dr.A. Balaji (Professor and Head of Department, Community Medicine) with the support of the following team members.

The students visited three village’s viz. Edaiyur, koovanur and Arundhakudi Village along with the team members.They were divided into three batches: Batch A (Roll no. 1 – 50), Batch B (Roll no. 51 – 100) and Batch C (Roll no. 101 – 150). Batch A had visited Edaiyur village, Batch B visited Koovanur village and Batch C visited Arundhakudi village.
On reaching the assigned villages, the students were divided into ten teams with five members in each team. After seeking permission from the village presidents, each team of students were allocated their families to be adopted under the programme. The family members co-operated wellwith the students. We explained them the purpose of our visit and sought their permission before entering the house.
The detailed history of each family including socio-demographic profile and clinical examination were recorded as per the FAP document. The students interacted well with the family members andall the families gave a positive response to our visit.
